Go Green AND Save Money with Solar Energy!
Solar energy is an alternative power source that really makes sense for Washington homes and businesses. You can take control of your utility bill and ‘go green’, with Federal and state governments offering incentives to make it financially easy! There are also tax incentives for purchasing electric vehicles which can be charged by solar. Contact us for more information and start saving money AND the environment today!
Solar Energy Solutions
Photovoltaics (PV) is the cutting edge technology that enables us to collect energy from the sky for businesses and industry. Arlington Electric is a certified PV installer, providing free home and business design-build solar evaluations that comply with your utility company’s solar programs and state and federal regulations. We have vast experience installing solar energy systems that offset your energy usage, and we can help you understand how government and utility company incentive programs can offset the cost of your installation. Off-grid and battery back-up systems offer a great solution to become energy independent.
Solar Investment Tax Credits
The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is a Federal tax credit for residential and commercial property owners. Homeowners can apply the credit to their personal income tax liability (Section 25D residential ITC), and under Section 48, a business that installs, develops or finances a solar energy project can claim a commercial tax credit.
Other Solar Energy Incentives for Washington State Residents
The Washington State Renewable Energy System Cost Recovery Program is a production-based incentive program for qualifying customers. The amount each participant earns depends on the type of equipment installed and the amount of energy produced. There are limits on total incentives paid each fiscal year, and the program is subject to change by state action at any time.
To qualify, the property owner must have the system certified by the WA Department of Revenue. Once you receive your certification letter from DOR and your utility company has record of it, we’ll administer the Production Incentive Credit is available annually
How much solar will it take to power your home?
The answer depends on your energy consumption. One owner may have a highly energy efficient Net zero home that only needs a small solar system to cover all its energy usage. Another may have a very energy-inefficient home that could never cover all its energy needs with solar. We look at your home and your usage needs and conservation to assess how a solar system would benefit your situation.
The net metering reserve allows you to roll net metering credits from one annual billing period to another. Per state law, net metering reserve credits expire on April 30 of each year. It’s a good time to install a solar energy system in your home or business. Find out more information about Net Metering.
Electric Car Chargers Can Use Solar Energy
With a 5kW solar system taking advantage of tax incentives for you, there’s one more incentive available. An electric car charger can use energy from the sun to power your car, which saves you money and helps improve air quality! There are more efficient electric vehicles are on the market than ever before, there are tax incentives available for buying one, and there are more charging stations going in everywhere which makes electric travel more reliable every day.
Solar Energy System Monitoring
PV system monitoring helps operators create an “energy balance” that accounts for the amount of solar resource available, as well as the losses in each energy conversion process up to delivery at the point of interconnection. Monitoring is a powerful tool for understanding PV system performance, and it is fundamentally dependent on the quality of sensors and analytical models used.
